“ONE… MILLION DOLLARS!!!”
Andrew Luce is visual effects artist and animator who specializes in compositing, and 3D character animation. He majored in Animation and Visual Effects and minored in Computer Technology at Drexel University which he graduated from in June 2026. His experience with computers and software started long before Drexel, however. He spent his high school years developing the VFX portfolio that earned him the Antoinette Westphal Portfolio Scholarship which allowed him to attend Drexel University.
His work is well-rounded and shows a competent 3D generalist who developed a talent and passion for compositing and character animation. You can find this talent displayed at the top of this site with his collaborative senior project short film titled “The Main Event”.
Luce hopes to one day become a Visual Effects Compositor as, in his own words, “(he) likes seeing how the pieces come together”. He finds that the sometime scrappy and guerilla style that often accompanies late stage post-production work fits with his personal motto first quoted by the late great Burt Gummer, “doing the best I can with what I got.”
You’ll find this portfolio currently contains class assignments and personal projects but Luce has found himself hired both as a freelancer and full-time temporary employee. Most recently this involved a 6 month stay in New Zealand working with LittleMonkey LLC as an animator, programmer, and website designer. This reflects his talent and desire to also work in the fields adjacent to animation and visual effects such as computer programming, film directing, and film editing; all of which he’s pursued at various points.
Andrew Luce spends his free time as an amateur game designer, currently working on a third-person RPG/hero-shooter. He also enjoys playing video games including Rocket League, of which he played on the Drexel E-Sports team, Marvel Rivals, and the Batman Arkham series. Don’t get the impression that he’s exclusively glued to his computer however, as he also enjoys playing football (soccer to Americans), acoustic guitar and running.
